Effective 09 June 2026
Version 2.0
Jurisdiction UK / EU
1. Who we are
Volta is an independent digital publishing project. This policy explains
what personal information the website handles and why. "We", "us", and
"our" refer to the person responsible for Volta; "you" means anyone who
uses the website or buys a product. For any privacy matter, including the
requests described below, the point of contact is
support@voltalibrary.com.
2. What we collect
We only handle information in three situations:
- When you buy something. Checkout is run by Lemon Squeezy, which acts as Merchant of Record — the legal seller for your order. Lemon Squeezy collects and stores your payment and billing details and handles sales tax under its own privacy policy. We receive an order confirmation containing your name, email address, and what you bought, so we can deliver your files and help if something goes wrong. Payment card numbers never reach us.
- When you use the contact form. It is processed by Web3Forms, which forwards your message to our email inbox. We receive the name, email address, subject, and message you submit.
- When you simply visit. Like all websites, our hosting provider automatically records standard technical logs — such as your IP address and browser type — to serve the pages and keep the site secure.
- When you subscribe to Volta Notes. If you sign up for the monthly newsletter, we collect the email address you enter. It is submitted through Web3Forms and reaches our inbox.
3. How we use it
We use this information only to:
- Deliver the product you purchased and provide support — to perform our contract with you.
- Read and reply to messages you send us — our legitimate interest in answering you.
- Operate and secure the website — our legitimate interest in keeping it working.
- Send the monthly Volta Notes newsletter, if you signed up — on the basis of your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
We do not sell your data, share it for advertising, or use it to build marketing profiles.
4. Who processes it
Your data is handled only by the services that make Volta work:
- Lemon Squeezy — checkout, payment processing, and sales tax, as Merchant of Record.
- Web3Forms — delivers contact-form messages and newsletter sign-ups to our inbox.
- Our hosting provider — serves the website and keeps standard server logs.
We will disclose information only where required by a valid legal request.
5. Cookies & tracking
This website sets no cookies of its own and runs no analytics or advertising
trackers. The Lemon Squeezy checkout, which opens when you buy, may set its
own cookies under its own privacy policy.
6. Retention
We do not keep our own customer or sales database. Order and invoice records
are held by Lemon Squeezy as Merchant of Record under its own retention rules.
Messages you send through the contact form remain in our email inbox for as
long as they are useful for support, and are deleted when no longer needed.
If you subscribe to Volta Notes, we keep your email address until you ask to
unsubscribe, after which it is removed. To unsubscribe, email
support@voltalibrary.com and we will
take you off the list.
7. Your rights
Under UK and EU data protection law you can:
- Ask what personal data we hold about you and request a copy.
- Ask us to correct anything inaccurate.
- Ask us to delete your data, where no legal duty requires us to keep it.
- Object to processing based on our legitimate interest.
- Complain to your local data protection authority.
To make a request, email support@voltalibrary.com. For data held by Lemon Squeezy as Merchant of Record, you can also contact them directly.
8. Changes & contact
If the way Volta handles data changes, we will update this page; the effective
date above will always reflect the latest version. For any question, write to
support@voltalibrary.com or use the
contact page.
